Kent Lewis, Founder & President
As President of Formic Media, Kent Lewis is responsible for overseeing operations, marketing and strategic partnerships in order to achieve Formic’s mission: to provide affordable but effective search engine marketing (SEM) services to small and local businesses. Also currently President of Anvil Media, Inc., Lewis started his career in SEM in 1996, and has built and managed SEM teams at 3 separate agencies since then. He was also co-founder of emailROI (now eROI) in 2002 and past President and co-founder of SEMpdx, a professional trade association for search engine marketers. Lewis is an adjunct professor at Portland State University, where he teaches a SEM workshops. In 2000, Lewis created pdxMindShare, a networking career community for Portland professionals.
Active in his community, Lewis is currently involved in non-profit charity and professional trade organizations including early literacy program SMART (Start Making a Reader Today), The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), Portland Incubator Experiment (PIE), Oregon Creative Industries, PDC Neighborhood Economic Development (NED) and Leadership Group. Industry recognition and awards include Portland Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 Award, Top 25 Most Influential Pay-per-Click Experts, Top 40 Digital Strategists in Marketing and 2012 Marketer of the Year by American Marketing Association Oregon Chapter. Married with children, Lewis enriches his personal and professional life by co-hosting a weekly Internet radio show, DadsUnplugged.
