Continental Van SEO Case Study
Overview
Continental Van Lines is a family-owned company that has been providing cost effective and professional local, interstate, and international moving services for over 55 years.
Objective
The campaign objective was to optimize the current website through an extensive SEO research process, on-site implementation and link development, and increase online traffic by raising Continental Van Lines’ organic and local search rankings for targeted keywords.
Challenge
A highly competitive local landscape in Continental Van Lines’ top markets for relevant “moving” industry keyword made it difficult to gain visibility initially. In addition, when Continental Van Lines first engaged Formic the website was un-optimized and had minimal visibility in the search engine results pages (SERPs) for “Seattle Moving” keywords, nor had it been optimized using SEO best practices.
Strategy
The strategy began with extensive keyword research and SEO best practice recommendations, implemented successfully on-site by Continental Van Lines. Six months ago, Continental Van Lines and Formic launched more aggressive ongoing SEO tactics and strategic link development efforts. Utilizing both on-site and off-site optimization avenues for increased organic results Formic was able to increase rankings for targeted keywords and generate a significant increase in organic traffic.
Results
Formic was able to produce a significant increase in organic website traffic for Continental Van over the course of a six-month engagement:
- 105% increase in organic traffic from month 1 to month 6
- 89% improvement in organic ranking for a top tier “Seattle moving ” keyword from month 1 to month 6
- 25% increase in organic visitor engagement and average time spent on site from month 1 to month 6
